A 46-year-old Centralia man has been charged with aggravated battery following a November 28th incident where he allegedly got in an altercation with another man who sustained multiple broken ribs. Charles Anderson of North Maple is accused in the Marion County Court charge of striking the alleged victim in the head and body with his hand and a glass bong. Anderson failed to appear on Friday but was given another notice to appear on January 19th.
Anderson was one of six who were given notices to appear on new charges after initially being released by police under the new cashless bond law until a charging decision was made by the State’s Attorney’s office.
38-year-old Shannon Hicks of South Washington in Salem has been charged with felony retail theft at the Salem Walmart. The charge was a felony due to a past conviction. Due to another conviction, Hicks faces an extended sentence if found guilty.
29-year-old Abigail Richmond-Cummins of South 18th in Mt. Vernon was charged with possession of under 15 grams of a controlled substance following a November 30th arrest.
Three others have been charged with possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine. They are 46-year-old Micky Jagasar of South Maple in Centralia, 34-year-old Colleen Stokes in Granite City, and 26-year-old Zachariah Pigg of County Highway 18 in Centralia.
