State Police say one person was injured in a three vehicle crash that occurred Monday night on Illinois Route 161 at Moonglow Road east of Centralia.
Preliminary information indicates a 16-year-old male juvenile from Salem was traveling eastbound on Route 161 and failed to stop for traffic in front of him. He first struck a Chevrolet Silverado and pushed it into a RAM pickup that had stopped in traffic to make a left turn onto Moonglow Road.
One person was taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries.
The Centralia Fire Protection District and Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies also responded to assist.
The male juvenile was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions.
The crash occurred at 7:43 Monday night.
