Charles Brown, of Round Rock, Texas, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023.
He was born September 5, 1948, in Hartford KY, the son of Cecil and Elizbeth (Eddings) Brown. He married Barbara Jones on September 16, 1969, in Salem IL.
Charles is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughter Katrina and husband C.J. Holthaus of Round Rock, Texas; two grandchildren Serra Holthaus and Logan Holthaus, sisters Hope Smith and husband Les of Big Sandy, TN, and Theresa Richardson and husband Randall of Marysville, OH, and several nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and brother Darius.
Charles had a long career working in the printing industry. He spent 20 years at World Color Press in Salem before moving to Pflugerville, Texas, and worked at various print shops until he retired in 2011, and moved to Round Rock, Texas in 2013.
Charles enjoyed his retirement working on wood crafts and remodeling projects. His proud moment was when he worked on Extreme Makeover Home Edition for the 2012 Christmas Special. He also enjoyed playing card games at the senior center (Baca Center, Round Rock, TX). He will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Sutherland Rankin Funeral Home in Salem, Illinois. Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem.
