Betty Ann Farley, aged 92, of Salem, formerly of Louisville, Kentucky, peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023, surrounded by her family at her son’s home in Salem.
Born on April 22, 1931, in Louisville, Kentucky, Betty was the beloved daughter of Wilbur and Julia (Allen) Windhorst. She married Lewis B. Farley on March 6, 1953, in Louisville, and together, they shared 57 years of marital bliss until his passing on June 26, 2010.
Betty is survived by her loving children: Cheryl Carrington and husband Craig of Dieterich, David Farley and wife Rhoda of Salem, Steve Farley and wife Gena of Salem, and Don Coomes of Indiana, who was the significant other of Betty’s daughter Debbie who passed away. She leaves behind cherished grandchildren: Blair Newton, Nic Farley, Jason Carrington, Christine Carrington, Brandon Farley, Dustin Butts, Carrie Lardner, and Sarah Bohnhoff. Her legacy extends to great-grandchildren: Bryce, Harper, Millie, Kailey, Addison, Maverick, Camron, Alexia, and Landon. She also leaves behind her dog, Piper, and her cat, Max.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Wilbur and Julia, her husband, Lewis, daughter Debbie Lardner, brother Donald Windhorst, and dog Petie
Betty was a woman of the Catholic faith. She found joy in crafting, and jewelry, going to yard sales and resale shops, and indulging in her fondness for QVC shopping. Her love for her pets was only surpassed by her unwavering devotion to family.
A funeral service to celebrate Betty Ann Farley’s life will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem, officiated by Father Jose Jacobs. Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. until the start of the service. Memorial contributions in Betty’s honor can be made to the American Cancer Society and will be received at the funeral home.
