A 33-year-old Kinmundy woman has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison after pleading guilty in Marion County Court on Tuesday to burglary and aggravated battery charges.
Vanessa Wooden of Freemont Street admitted to a reduced count of aggravated battery in a public place for striking a Salem Police officer in the head with her hand at the Marion County Jail in August and burglary to a vehicle parked in the Law Enforcement parking lot in May. Wooden reportedly entered the vehicle after coming to the jail to stay she need a place to stay.
Wooden received the two and a half year prison term on both cases, with the time to be served concurrently. She’ll have to complete six months of mandatory supervised release after getting out of prison. She will get credit for time already served.
