Lois L. Jenkins 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 30, 2023.
She was born February 3, 1927, the daughter of Percell Dutch Scott and Marjorie Laverne (Metcalf) Scott in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Lois married Shirley Jenkins in Mt. Vernon, Illinois on August 15, 1965, and he preceded her in death on August, 14th 2002.
Lois is survived by her son-in-law: Leon Bierman of Centralia; two grandchildren: Linda Deadmond and Brian of Odin and Robert Bierman and Diane of Hoyleton; five great-grandchildren: Nathan Woods of Odin, Korey Woods of Centralia, Malia Woods of Centralia, Andrew Bierman and Maisey of Richview, and Elizabeth Bierman of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; two great-great-grandchildren: Tanner Woods and Zoey Woods; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Percell and Marjorie Scott, husband: Shirley Jenkins, daughter: Elaine Bierman, and two brothers: Ben Scott and Gene Scott.
Lois worked at Leaf Candy Company for 29 years and retired in April of 1992. She was an avid Sooners College Football Fan and a St. Louis Cardinal’s Fan. Lois loved to cook and spend time with her family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia. Visitation will be held from Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618)532-3523, who is honored to be of service to Lois’s Family.
