Roger Lewis Nichols, 81, of Iuka, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, November 15th, 2023 in Fate, Texas.
Roger was born under a tree in Iuka Illinois to Wilbert and Erma Nichols on May 29th, 1942. He graduated from Salem High School in 1960. He was a man of many talents. He was a farmer, a construction worker, and a business owner. He enjoyed working with his hands and was a master craftsman. He dedicated his later life to his grandchildren.
Roger is survived by his loving wife Doris (nee Laughlin), of Fate. His children Kathy, Wayne, Janet, Ron, Don, and their spouses; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Jerry, Lucille, and Gene, and their spouses.
He is preceded in death by his father Wilbert and his mother Erma.
Funeral services for Roger Nichols will be held at Crouse Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Xenia.
