Inez Mae Timmerman, age 96 of Westbrook, Minnesota passed away on November 3, 2023, at the Westbrook Good Samaritan Care Center. She was the mother of Tracy Timmerman and wife Becky of Salem.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 6, 2023, at Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook, Minnesota. The visitation was from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 5 at the Westbrook Funeral Home. The interment was at Westbrook Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Service – Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Inez Mae (Nelson) Timmerman was born February 16, 1927, to Edward P. and Anna (Hanson) Nelson in Westbrook Township, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church. Inez attended Double Lake Country School and graduated from Westbrook High School in 1945. She enrolled at Mankato State Teachers College, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Studies, and minors in both English and Geography. She began teaching Social Studies in the Mountain Lake School District in the fall of 1949. She resumed her teaching career in the Westbrook Public Schools and retired from there in 1992.
Inez was united in marriage to Marlin (Mike) Timmerman, son of Joe and Anna (Comnick) Timmerman of Westbrook on Sunday, December 27, 1953, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. She was a member of Westbrook Legion Auxiliary, a Sunday School teacher, a confirmation mentor, and active in WELCA. Other interests included playing piano, baking, cooking, canning, sewing, and reading. She will be missed.
Mike and Inez had two children: Bradley (Carol) and Tracy (Becky) of Salem; 5 grandchildren: Lee Timmerman (Elizabeth), Lauren Kostel (Tyler), Travis (Natalie) Timmerman, Dylan (Samantha) Timmerman, Taylor Timmerman, and 8 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband and parents.
