Charles Albert Sanders, 86 of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 9:58 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Centralia Manor in Centralia, Illinois.
He was born on July 31, 1937, in Centralia, Illinois, the son of Dwight and Lona (Scheriger) Sanders. He married Eileen Schierbecker on May 21, 1977, in Hoyleton, Illinois, and she survives in Centralia, Illinois.
Besides his wife of 46 years, left to mourn his passing is a brother Tom (Barb) Sanders of Odin, Illinois, two sisters; Corky Rodriguez of Morton, Illinois, and Jean (Rick) Deadmond of Kinmundy, Illinois. A brother-in-law Howard Schierbecker of Hoyleton, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; Dwight Sanders and Vernos Sanders.
Charles was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a long-time member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton, Illinois, and the Centralia Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and exercising at the Centralia Recreation Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton, Illinois, with Reverend Nathan Wollenberg officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church of Hoyleton.
