Pauletta Hamburg, 75, of Centralia, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon.She was born July 3, 1948, in Centralia, the daughter of Rev. Otis H. Cross, Sr. and Nora (Anglen) Cross Arnold. Pauletta married Bill Hamburg on May 15, 1970, and he survives in Centralia.In addition to her husband of 53 years, Bill Hamburg of Centralia, Pauletta is also survived by her son: Jeff Hamburg and fiancé Krista Colliver of Centralia; grandson: Hunter Hamburg and wife Megan of Centralia; step-grandchildren: Mariska Mankle of Teutopolis, Kyle Mankle of Teutopolis, and McKenzie Colliver of Centralia; great-grandson: Karder and a great-granddaughter: Kacie, that will be born in December; a brother: Orus Cecil Cross of Reddick; a sister: Mary ‘Momma, Benzschawel of Centralia; sister-in-law: Darlene Cross; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents: Rev. Otis Cross, Sr. and Nora Cross Arnold, son: Brian ‘Potsie’ Potts, a brother: Otis Cross, Jr., a daughter-in-law: Debbie Hamburg; sister: Bonnie Cross and brother-in-law: Kenneth Benzschawel.Pauletta worked at Wal-Mart in Centralia for 15 years as a greeter. She was a member of the First Church of God in Centralia. Pauletta enjoyed collecting dolls and old-fashioned red trucks for Christmas. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving. Pauletta and her sister, Momma B, made crafts together over the years.Pauletta cherished the time she spent with her grandkids, great-grandchildren, and her fur baby: Coco Hamburg. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.Funeral Services for Pauletta Hamburg will be held Monday, October 23, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Larry Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery in Salem. Visitation will be held Monday afternoon from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home.
