He was born on December 20, 1950, the son of LeRoy “Red” and Beautrice (Davis) Marshall in Carlyle.
Survivors that will hold dear memories of Edward include his beloved family, his children, Angela (Rodney) Hill of Odin, Eddie Marshall of Centralia, and Tabatha (Jeff) Thomas of Centralia; cherished grandchildren, Amanda Varner, Jacob Hill, Addison Tyus, Kaleb Marshall, Wyatt Marshall, Kyla Marshall, Corissa (Cris) Rivera, Nathan Thomas, Mitchel Pierce, and Shyann Pierce; his brother, Houston “Gene” Marshall of Carlyle; great-granddaughter, Kaylyn Pierce; and several nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Jea Marshall; his sister, Cleo Davis; and his brothers, Jimmy Marshall, David Marshall, William Eldon Marshall, and Kenneth Marshall.
Ed was dedicated to his work, putting in long days as a logger for Forth Lumber Company, to provide for himself and his family, until he became disabled due to a work-related injury, that led to early retirement. He was down to earth and enjoyed the simple things in life. Ed loved a beautiful, sunny day spent outdoors, hunting, fishing, or riding four-wheelers. Deer hunting was his passion and he loved everything about getting out in the woods in search of the next big buck. He enjoyed time with his family, visiting and having fun with his kids and grandkids. He took his role of “PaPa”, “Grandpa” seriously and was proud to tell others all about his grandkids. Ed’s family and friends will never forget the great times spent together or how much he meant to them.
