Donna J. Williams, 88, of Salem, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Odin Healthcare, surrounded by her family.
She was born November 16, 1934 in Cassville, Wisconsin, daughter of Gus and Lillian (Meier) Kirschbaum. She married the love of her life, Donald J. Williams on May 29, 1954 in Lancaster, Wisconsin and he preceded her in death on January 27, 2008.
Donna is survived by her three daughters: Diane Sager of Salem, Kay Doan of Carterville, and Jean Sturtzel and husband Gil of High Point, N.C.; eight grandchildren: James (Amber) Sager, Donald (Brooke) Sager, Kevin (Rickell) Sager, Nathan (Allyssa) William, Ryan Doan, Lauren Doan, Tony (Melissa) Sturtzel and Steve Sturtzel; 10 great-grandchildren, Blaire, Edison, Samantha, Dawson, Reid, Aubree, Abby, Rynlee, Morgan, and Luke, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son: Richard August Williams; sister, Dorene Lechnir, brothers, Bernard and David Kirschbaum.
Mrs. Williams was a devoted homemaker, during her many years in Salem. She worked part-time for several local businesses, the most recent was Bandy’s Pharmacy. She will be remembered for her many meals, desserts and attending all the school functions and sporting events.She was an active member of St. Theresa Catholic church, having served on numerous committees during her lifetime.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Salem, Illinois on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 10:00 am with Father Jose Jacob officiating. Interment will follow at Paradise Cemetery in Salem. A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 am prior to the service at the church.
