2023 10/05 – Peggy Ann Schaubert

Peggy Ann Schaubert, 89, of Salem, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Salem Township Hospital with her family by her side.

She was born May 19, 1934, in Morris, Oklahoma, the daughter of Dennis Irvin Meigs and Bonnie ‘Irene’ (Richison) Meigs. She married Wilson J. ‘Jerry’ Schaubert on November 19, 1952, in Salem and he preceded her in death on December 22, 2018.

Peggy is survived by her daughter: Pam Bandy and husband Steve of Salem; her grandchildren: Eric Bandy and wife Kelly, Adam Bandy and wife Jayme, Lance Schaubert and wife Tara, Heath Schaubert and wife Ashley, and Lauren Schaubert and husband Brady Suedmeyer; great-grandchildren: Tessa and Logan Bandy, Alek and Aubrey Bandy, Cooper, Cormick and Colter Schaubert, Eva Schaubert, Arthur Schaubert, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Dennis and Irene Meigs, husband: Wilson J. ‘Jerry’ Schaubert, infant son: Michael Lee Schaubert, son: Steven Bruce Schaubert, brother: John Meigs, and sister: Frances McNabb.

Peggy enjoyed golf, cooking, pinochle, art, sewing and housekeeping.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Salem.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sutherland-Rankin Funeral Home in Salem. Graveside Services will be held Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 11:00 AM at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem with Dave Jarrett officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and/or the Oil Belt Christian Camp and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Rankin Funeral Home at 310 North Broadway / P O Box 97 Salem, Illinois 62881, (618)548-1234, who is honored to be of service to Peggy’s Family.
