Daniel Ray Patton, 77, of Herrin passed away at his home on August 25th with his loving and caring partner at his side.
Mr. Patton was born on June 27, 1946, in Centralia, Il. His parents were Charles and Lorena Patton.
Mr. Patton was raised on the family farm and after graduating from Centralia High School he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served his country for four years and received rank as a Staff Sergeant during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Patton was a Carpenter by trade. He most recently enjoyed working at Rural King in Marion, IL. He enjoyed helping customers find the items for the weekend plumbing and electrical projects.
Mr. Patton will be greatly missed by his brother Paul and wife Pearl Patton of Bossier City, Louisiana. Also by Mr. Patton’s Children- Daughter -Renee Palazzolo and husband Steve of Centralia; Son-Daniel Keith Patton and wife Regina of Salem, Il.;
Sons- Charles Edward Patton and James William Patton of St. Charles, Mo.; Nieces, Terry Jackson, Linda Shufeldt, MaryLou Durall; and Nephews Robert Miller and Allen Patton; Eight Grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; Special Friend to the family and Life Partner to Mr. Patton–Linda Helmbrecht.
Preceding him in death are his parents Charles and Lorena Patton, his sister Phyllis Patton Miller Cody,, brother – James Dewit Patton, and brothers-in-law Lew Miller and Ray Cody.; Niece Pam Patton
Mr. Patton chose cremation and there will be a private burial at a later date.
Van Natta Funeral Home in Herrin is in charge of arrangements.
