Deborah “Debbie” Craig, 72, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 12:18 am July 29, 2023, at her home in Mount Vernon surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born August 3, 1950, in Mount Vernon to the late Herbert Etheridge and Mabel Piercy. Debbie retired after 21 years of service at Walmart.
Debbie is survived by her significant other, Rita Ratliff of Mount Vernon; children, Christi Craig of Mount Vernon, Shannon Craig and wife, Tracy of West Frankfort and Shane Craig of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Shanda, Autumn, Alexis, Savannah, Seth, Parker, Emily, Courtney, Cody, Paige; great- grandchildren, Mason, Aybree, Dawson and Koleson, stepsons, DaWayne Cotton and wife, Malena, Corey Estes and Curtis Estes; sister, Barbara Mitchell and husband, David of Woodlawn, Illinois; twin brother, David Etheridge and wife Ginger of Mount Vernon.
In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Yoder and husband, Ray; nephews, Jason Yoder and Brian Mitchell; and great niece, Shelby Mitchell and long-time significant other, Vickie Cotton. Debbie loved playing bingo and was an animal lover. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Visitation will be held on August 1, 2023, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Old Union Missionary Baptist Church in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am at the church with Reverend Jeff Harrell officiating. Memorials may be made in Deborah’s honor to Old Union Missionary Baptist Church.
