The Salem Fire Protection District was called out Friday morning to a report of a light flickering and a smoke smell in the bathroom of a home northeast of Salem.
Assistant Fire Chief Bill Fulton says the call was at the Darren Thompson home in the 1800 block of Yards Road. He reports firemen ended up removing the light switch from the bathroom that apparently had malfunctioned. There was no actual fire.
The call came in at 5:30 Friday morning with firemen on the scene for about a half hour.
