The Salem 12u All Stars opened up District play last night at Robinson and came away with an 11-1 win over Mt Carmel.
Colton Tockstein was the winning pitcher for Salem. He went 3 inning allowing 2 hits and one earned run with 9 strikeouts and no walks. Kai Graham got the final 3 outs.
At the plate, Zane Applegate doubled along with Jared Crompton and Owen Tennyson. Applegate drove in 2 runs and scored 2, Crompton added 2 runs and an RBI. Also driving in Salem runs were Tennyson, Tockstein, Robby P. and Drew Consolino.
Salem advances to the semifinals tomorrow to play the winner of tonight’s game between Robinson and the winner of last night’s game between Olney and Lawrenceville. That loser will play tonight in the opening game at 6pm against Mt Carmel in an elimination game.
