A 28-year-old Odin woman has been charged with felony aggravated fleeing and eluding police after leading Central City Police on a high-speed chase Tuesday morning before crashing and attempting to flee on foot.

Judge Mark Stedelin set bond for Mikayla Rowcliff of DeWolfe Street at $30,000 with a provision she does not drive a motor vehicle.  She was also charged separately with driving on a suspended license, speeding more than 35 miles per hour over the speed limit as well as failure to obey a stop sign and signal.    Rowcliff had a public defender appointed to represent her.

Central City Police say they initially tried to stop the car Rowcliff was driving because the license plate did not match the vehicle it was registered.   Rowcliff allegedly fled out of town on Green Street Road at speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.  The vehicle went off-road for a brief time before coming back onto Green Street Road.  As the vehicle turned onto Zion Hill Road, Central City Police terminated the chase.  A short time later, the car crashed and the three in the vehicle fled on foot.

All three were later located.   In addition to Rowcliff, a passenger, 33-year-old Nathan Watts of Salem, was arrested on an outstanding Clinton County warrant for domestic battery.   He was taken to the Marion County Jail.   The second passenger, the owner of the vehicle, was released without arrest.

The chase began shortly after seven Tuesday morning.
