The SC 16u Strom won the Dustin Brown Benefit Firecracker Tournament over the weekend in Olney.
The Storm went 1-1 on Saturday beating the Mattoon Cobras Cross5-4 before falling to the Mattoon Cobras SG 8-6.
Sunday the Storm came to play and beat the Indiana Gators Premier 4-2. They followed that up with an 8-1 win over the Indiana OutKast. Taylor Stone hit her 15th home run in the game. In the championship, the Storm would avenge their lone loss with a 4-0 shutout of the Cobras. Maddy Francois pitched the complete game 1-hitter. At the plate, Brittany Niemerg went 3-3 and Kyra Swift added 2 hits. Lily Holcomb also had a hit in the game.
SC 16u will return to action Saturday in the Fasa College Showcase and then end their season at USFA Nationals in Panama City Beach the following week.
