Salem JV finished their run at the Carlyle Mudcats Tournament dropping their last 2 games. On Saturday, Salem fell to the Trenton Gators 6-5 in 9-innings. Payton Gullion was the starting pitcher going 6 innings before giving way for his brother Avery, who went the final 3. They combined to allow7 hits and just 3 earned runs while striking out 10 and walking just 2. But the offense stalled and couldn’t push across the winning run. Driving in Salem runs for the game were Colton Rogers, Brendan Smith, Jackson Green and Aaden Rostance. Eli Lograsso added a hit and run along with Payton Gullion
Salem then dropped their finale on Sunday to Greenville 16-1. Salem could only must 2 hits in the game, Payton Gullion doubled and singled for the Cats stole 3 bases and scored the only run. Rostance, Lograsso and Max Vincent pitched for Salem who will be back in action tomorrow with a home double header against Breese.
