By WJBD Staff Jun 21, 2023 | 7:09 AM

The JV split their games at Mount Vernon.  The Wildcats forgot how to play baseball in the first 2 innings, committing 11 errors in that time as they fell 16-1.  Salem only had one hit, Keytin Grawe singled.  On the mound, Aaden Rostance was the tough luck pitcher allowing just 2 earned runs out of the 11 scored in the opening inning.  Grawe worked 2 innings of relief.  He allowed 5 runs and struck out 3.

In the 2nd game, Salem got an RBI double from Carter Lowe as they won 1-0.  Eli Lograsso and Avery Gullion added singles and Jackson Green singled.  Avery Gullion got the start and was the winning pitcher allowing no runs and no hits and struck out all 3 batters he faced.  Lograsso pitched a scoreless inning and Payton Gullion earned the save.  The Salem JV will play a regular season game at Carlyle on Thursday before opening up the Carlyle Tournament this weekend.
