2023 06/21 – Patricia Eileen Vest

Patricia Eileen Vest, 85 of Salem, Illinois passed away June 17, 2023, at Odin Care Center, Odin, Illinois.

Born November 22, 1937, she was the daughter of Merle and Alice Edna (Smith) See.

Pat worked for Country Companies Insurance Co. in Salem as a Claims Adjuster for many years. She was a faithful member of the First Christian Church in Salem.

She married H. L. “Toby” Vest on June 3, 1977, in Salem and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter Sandra Lee Dabbs and husband Gene of Woodstock, GA. along with step-sons Mark Vest and Tony Vest and wife Penny all of Centralia, IL. Also her siblings, Ron See of Naples, FL, Eddie See and wife Phyllis of Salem, IL, Jean Monical of Salem, IL, Rita See of Kinmundy, IL, Vicki Wilkerson of Iuka, IL, and Jim See of Oregon. Also a great-grandson, Alex Ervin of Iuka, IL.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Merla Jean George, her granddaughter Nicole Ervin, her stepmother Thelma Mulvany Bundy See, and her brother, Charles Bundy.

Public graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 1880 – Lovell’s Grove Cemetery in Omega with Phil Martin officiating. The family invites you to gather with them for visitation at the Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home in Salem Wednesday from 9:00 am until 10:30 am.
