Loraine Donoho, 89, of Mount Vernon, Illinois formerly of rural Bluford, Illinois, passed away at Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson Kentucky on June 15, 2023.
She was born December 8, 1933, in Sims, Illinois to the late Thomas Koker and LaNora (Warren) Koker. Loraine married Richard L. Donoho on October 31, 1954, at Bailey Church in Wayne City, Illinois. They were blessed with 40 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on May 30, 1994.
Loraine is survived by her children; Craig Donoho and wife Jane of Tolono, Illinois, Jeffrey Donoho and wife Kimberly of Mount Vernon, Brian Donoho and wife Faith of Urbandale, Iowa, Lori Oglesby and husband Carter of Henderson, Kentucky; grandchildren, Bradley Donoho and wife Alison, Ryan Donoho and wife Krista, Lauren Mey and husband Tyler, Joshua Donoho and wife Emily, Adam Donoho, Heather Barber and husband Zach, Thomas Donoho, Andrew Donoho, Larkin Oglesby and Carson Ogelsby; great-grandchildren, Josiah, Adele, Breann, Kacey, Jackson, Dorothy Donoho, and Hudson and Ivy Loraine Mey; brothers, Charles Koker and wife Darlene of Wayne City, Warren Koker and wife Diane of Olathe, Kansas, and Verne Koker and wife Linda of Topeka, Kansas.
In addition to her parents, Thomas and LaNora Koker and husband, Richard Donoho, Loraine was preceded in death by her brother, Alan Koker and great-granddaughter, Olivia Donoho.
Loraine attended Wayne City High School and was an active member of Wells Chapel General Baptist Church where she had served as song leader. She enjoyed singing in the Sweet Adelines Group. She served as Farrington Township Clerk for several years. Loraine worked alongside her husband on their dairy farm in Farrington Township for many years. In her later years, she worked in her son’s insurance business in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
A Visitation will be held Monday, June 19, 2023, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, and again on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Wells Chapel General Baptist Church in Farrington Township. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Wells Chapel General Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made in Loraine’s honor to Wells Chapel Cemetery or Union Grove Trustees for the Youth Camp Dorm Building Fund.
