Guy E. Herzog, 68, of Centralia, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023.
He was born December 28, 1954, in Centralia, the son of Erwin Herzog and Bonnie (Broeker) Herzog. Guy married Debbie Cravens on June 29, 1974, and she survives.
In addition to his wife of 49 years, Debbie Herzog of Centralia, he is also survived by his two daughters: Misty Laycock and Scott Kendall of Hoffman and Renee Kimball and husband Randy of Olathe, Kansas; three grandchildren: Holden, Destin, and Hunter; one great-grandson: Jaxson; his four-legged companion: Bella; two sisters-in-law: Margaret (Cravens) Guthrie and Mike Claar of Centralia and Janet Antinoccio of Centralia; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Guy worked for 40-plus years as a welder and blacksmith for the Illinois Central Railroad. He enjoyed hunting and playing golf. Guy had a passion for old cars, working on them, going to car races, and watching NASCAR. He cherished the time he spent with his family, friends, and Bella.
A Visitation will be held Monday, June 19, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia.
