Linda Kirgan, 81, of Ashley, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023, at Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon.
She was born March 8, 1942, in Centralia, the daughter of Paul Sensel and Lela (Foster) Sensel. She married Lyle Kirgan on November 23, 1961, and he preceded her in death on December 1, 2020.
Linda is survived by her three children: Crystal (Kirgan) Deering and husband Richard of Indianapolis, Indiana, Roger Kirgan and wife Dawn (Dudley) of Ashley, Illinois and Alan Kirgan and wife Becky (Hall) of Grayslake, Illinois; six grandchildren: Andrew, Matthew, and Luke Deering, Derek Kirgan, James Kirgan and Nic Presutti; two great-grandsons: Cole and Duke Deering; two brothers: Wayne Sensel of Centralia and Don Sensel and wife Jane Ann of Walnut Hill; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Linda worked as a Teachers Aide at the Ashley Grade School in the Library for several years and later in life she worked as a Bookkeeper for Action Amusement in Ashley for 10 years. She loved reading and she was a master seamstress. Linda enjoyed listening to local basketball and baseball games. She was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan. Linda and her husband, Lyle, enjoyed traveling to Florida for the winter. She loved and cherished her grandchildren and family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, June 15, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. Visitation will be held Thursday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
