Pierce Borah has his Rams 1 win away from the Elite 8 in his first year as head coach after Mount Vernon won their 3a Sectional semifinal yesterday at Centralia beating Herrin 4-2. They will advance to play on Saturday against Effingham after the Hearts eliminated Triad 9-2.
In 4a, the Edwardsville Tigers are into the Sectional Finals at Bloomington with their 9-5 win over O’Fallon in a game played at Alton High School. They will play today’s winner between Normal Community and Minooka.
