2023 06/04 – Luwanda Inboden

Luwanda Mae (Carman) Inboden, age 84 of Salem, passed away on her daughter, Rhonda’s birthday, Monday, May 29, 2023, at St. Louis University Hospital.

Luwanda was born on May 11, 1939, in Beaver Dam, Ohio County, Kentucky the daughter of George Fairley Carman and Jennie Louise (Gray) Carman.  She married Keith Inboden on March 15, 1958, in Highland, Indiana and he preceded her in death on January 3, 2012.

She is survived by her four children, Timothy Inboden of Salem, David Inboden of Texas, Steve Inboden and wife Yolanda of Texas, and Rhonda Inboden of Missouri; two grandchildren, Steven L. Inboden Jr. and wife Jenny and Justin Inboden; and two great-grandchildren, Cassie and Rose Inboden.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Kenneth Carman and Earl Carman.

Luwanda was a faithful member of the Christian Biblical Church of God since 1972.  She was a manager at Denny’s in Salem for many years.  After her retirement, she was a volunteer Ombudsman for local nursing homes.  She was a wonderful and gentle soul.

Graveside services for Luwanda Mae Inboden will be held at 2:00 p.m. at East Lawn Cemetery on Sunday, June 4, 2023, with Steve Durham officiating. The cemetery is located on the northeast corner of the intersection of East Main Street (US 50) and North Shelby Avenue.
