Police Beat for Thursday, May 25th, 2023

Salem Police arrested a 35-year-old Salem man who allegedly entered his mother’s home while she was asleep and took her car keys and allegedly stole her vehicle.  Brant Renfro was arrested about an hour later after Centralia Police spotted him and the car at the Huck’s Store at Poplar and Calumet.  He was taken to the Marion County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle.  Renfro allegedly entered his mother’s home on Lovell Street around 2:07 Thursday morning and was located at 3:11 am.

A 43-year-old Sandoval man has been arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies for violation of an order of protection and aggravated battery to a peace officer.  Deputies say Nathaniel Hull became upset after he was told he could no longer be at the home on South Oak Street in Sandoval.  He reportedly returned a short after the deputy left, violating the order of protection.   He allegedly shoved the deputy attempting to take him into custody when returning to the scene.

26-year-old Daniel Johnston of South Poplar in Centralia was arrested by Centralia Police for alleged possession of methamphetamine and a narcotic instrument.

Salem Police arrested 47-year-old Roger Porter Junior of West Spruce Street in Salem for criminal damage to property after he allegedly broke a window out of a building on West Main by throwing a rock.  He was later given a notice to appear in court and was released from the Marion County Jail.

23-year-old Mariah Anderson of East Howard in Centralia was taken to the Marion County Jail on an outstanding traffic warrant.  The bond is set at $7,500.
