A 57-year-old Vandalia man was said to be alert and conscious after his motorcycle collided with a deer on US 51 north of Fairman Road north of Sandoval Sunday night.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say Mark Adams of Road 1090 Street in Vandalia received head lacerations and potential back and rib injuries. He was transported from near the scene via Air Evac Medical helicopter.
After hitting the deer, Adams was thrown 25 yards and went under a guardrail. The deer was also killed in the crash and was found dead on the other shoulder of the roadway.
Sandoval Fire and Ambulance were called to the scene.
The crash was reported at 8:35 Sunday evening.
