Softball Regionals Continue….SC & OPS Heading To Regional Finals

The OPS Lady Eagles advanced to the Marissa 1a regional finals with their 10-7 win over the hosts.  Hailey Lane had 3 hits including a 3-run home run.  Trista Moore also had 3 hits.  Macey Spicer was the winning pitcher and Lane got the save.  OPS will play Valmeyer Saturday at 1pm for the regional title.  OPS is 20-6 on the season.

The SC Lady Cougars are into their own regional title game with a 10-0 win over Webber yesterday in the first of 2 semifinal’s played.  Ella Watwood had a big day with 2 hits including a double and 4 RBI.  Taegan Webster, Brooklyn Garrett, Kinlee Thompson and Amelia Montes also drove in runs.  The Lady Cougars will play Grayville at 4pm in the finals on Friday after their 18-8 win over Wayne City.  SC is 23-9 on the year.

Also in 1a games yesterday, St Elmo lost to Edwards County at Altamont 17-2, Mulberry Grove needed 8 innings to beat Bunker Hill 2-0 at Greenfield.  Okawville advances to play Carlyle at the New Athens regional final following the Lady Rockets 12-2 win over Dupo.

Today in 1a the hosts at Altamont will take on Clay City.

In 2a, the Salem Lady Cats know who they will play in tomorrow’s Greenville 2a finals.  They will get Staunton after they upset Gillespie 5-4 scoring 2 in the top of the 7th to get the win.  Also yesterday at Althoff, Freeburg rolled over Marquette 15-0 and Breese Central nipped Wesclin 3-2, Red Bud won at home over Nashville 3-2.  At Roxana it was Mater Dei 11-1 over Roxana and Columbia shutout Piasa 3-0.  St Anthony was a 10-0 winner over Pana at TTown while the hosts beat Westville 3-1.
