The Salem Lady Wildcats open up regional play today when they travel to Greenville to take on Litchfield. Game time at 4:30.
In 2a quarterfinals yesterday, Murphysboro beat DuQuoin 9-5 in 10-innings. Murphsyboro’s Sarah Cook had the game tying homer in the bottom of the 7th and freshman Lily Williams hit a pinch-hit, walk-off grand slam in the 10th.
Marquette beat Althoff 21-6, Sparta 13-8 over Chester, Litchfield beat Hillsboro 7-2, Massac County nipped Vienna 1-0, Pana beat Paris 5-4, Roxana doubled up Wood River 10-5, Stuanton 15-0 over Greenville, Lawrenceville beat Vandalia 13-6 and West Frankfort over Harrisburg 5-2.
Today in 2a regional semifinal at Althoff it’s Freeburg against Marquette. At Flora, Newton plays Lawrenceville followed by Flora and Robinson. Carterville plays Sparta at Red Bud, St Anthony takes on Pana at TTown, Anna and Massac County play at West Frankfort followed by Mt Carmel and West Frankfort.
