Salem Police investigating an armed robbery at Circle K on West Main Street

Salem Police say there was an armed robbery at the Circle K convenience store at 1531 West Main Street early Sunday morning.

Police say the suspect entered the store, presented a knife, and demanded money from the cashier.

The employee was not hurt.   The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect is described as approximately 5 foot seven to five foot ten weighing 175 to 200 pounds.  He was reported to have brown hair and slight brown facial hair.

The suspect left the scene on foot and was last observed running northbound behind Huck’s Convenience Store towards the area of Mills Cart Road and Airport Road.

The Salem Police canine was deployed.  The dog was able to find the weapon and a hat and sweatshirt worn by the suspect that had been discarded nearby.  It is believed the suspect was wearing a black shirt underneath the grey hooded sweatshirt.

The robbery occurred at 3:27 Sunday morning.
