A Carterville man escaped serious injury late Friday night when his motorcycle crashed at Isle and Mulberry in Sandoval following a four-county chase that reportedly reached speeds of 100 miles per hour.
Dennis Hanson led Williamson County Deputies on the chase up Interstate 57 through Franklin and Jefferson County before moving into Marion County. When exiting at US 50, Hanson was blocked from traveling east by Salem Police and went west through Odin and Sandoval before crashing. Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies moved closer to the chase but did not take part.
Hanson was taken back to Williamson County by a deputy involved in the chase.
Initial reports do not indicate why Hanson was being chased, but he was wanted on outstanding warrants. The crash in Sandoval occurred just before midnight Saturday morning.
