Bond has been set at a half-million dollars for a 19-year-old Centralia man charged with ten Class X felony charges of child pornography.

Brent Morris of East Calumet was arrested at his home Monday by Centralia Police following an investigation that began in December of last year when the Center for Missing and Exploited Children allegedly captured Morris transmitting a video via Snap Chat that showed a person under 18 committing a sexual act.

Search warrants were later executed for Morris’ phone and electronic equipment.

The charges filed in Marion County Court Tuesday include four counts that claim Morris had disseminated child pornography video via Snap Chat.  The other six claim Morris had possession of videos showing children under 13 in sexual acts.

If Morris is found guilty of the videos distributed by Snap Chat, he will have to be sentenced to consecutive terms.

If released on bond, Morris was ordered to have no contact with anyone under the age of 18 and have no access to devices that can access the internet.   Morris asked for time to hire his own attorney.   He is next scheduled to be in court on May 16th for a status hearing on his counsel.
