The Salem Township Hospital Foundation has named its Employee of the Year.
Eydee Bumgarner, who is Director of the Health Information Management Department, was announced as the winner at the ‘Employee of the Year’ reception Wednesday morning. Bumgarner has been an employee at the hospital for the past 29 years.
“We are a community hospital here to help our patients which are our family and friends. We want a health care facility in our community.”
Hospital Board President Sandi Phillips read what Bumgarner’s fellow employees had to say about her before announcing the winner.
“Goes above and beyond the hospital. Dedicated. A great asset to the hospital and is easily approachable. Kind, honest and a great team player. Creates a welcome work environment. Dependable, hard worker and fair and thoughtful boss.”
The award comes with a $1,000 cash award, a plaque, as well as being included on the list of past Hospital Employees of the Year. Bumgarner did not immediately have any plans for the money.
It is a joint recognition project of Dr. and Mrs. Lakshmanan and Salem Township Hospital Foundation.
Other finalists were Janet Bunting, Kristina Butts, Gloria Hawkins, Val Mehmedi, Donna Owens, Shelley Rose, Sandy Smith, Leslie Tolka, Derek Utley,
and Erin Wenzel.
The award is part of the annual Hospital Week activities.
