An 18-year-old Centralia man has been charged in Marion County Court with nine counts of Class X child pornography.
In each of the counts, Brett Page of Edgebrook Lane is accused of transferring an image from the servers of Mega that showed a female child under the age of 13 in a sexual act.
Bond for Page was set at $100,000 and a public defender was appointed to represent him. If released on bond, Page was ordered to have no unsupervised contact with minors, and no access to the internet unless supervised by the school. A preliminary hearing is set for May 23rd.
The case was developed by Jefferson County Detective Bobby Wallace after the Center for Exploited Missing Children intercepted an inappropriate image via Snap Chat Messenger and the case was turned over to the Illinois Attorney General Task Force.
A search warrant was then obtained for Page’s electronic devices where the nine images charged in the court document were apparently recovered.
