Lady Cats Win 20th For First Time Since ‘07
The Salem Lady Cats ran their softball record to 20-3 with a 5-3 win at Roxana yesterday. It’s the most games a Salem softball team has won since 2007 when they won 26 games. In 2005 they won 19. Lilly Blagoue struck out 17 in the win and added an RBI double. Marah Johnson hit her 7th homer of the season and Breanna Thurman added her 3rd. Maya Susmena drove in a run as well.
NTC Crown Goes To St Anthony Over SC
South Central fell in the NTC Tournament finals to St Anthony 7-1. Jaylyn Michel had 2 hits and the only RBI. Kinlee Thompson had 2 hits with a double, Ella Watwood had 2 singles. SC is 19-8 on the year and will play at Marshall on Wednesday.
OPS Falls Short In MTC Championship
The OPS Lady Eagles lost in the Midland Trail Tournament finals to Waltonville 14-3. Trista Moore led OPS with a 3-run homer. Madie Garrett, Kenzie Wilkerson and Carmen Wilklerson had a hit each. OPS is 16-6 and will host Lebanon Monday afternoon at Spears Field.
