Police Beat for Thursday, May 4th, 2023

A 29-year-old Centralia man has been arrested by Centralia Police for aggravated battery and theft/possession of stolen property.  Deondre McGowen of South Lincoln was taken to the Marion County Jail.

Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 35-year-old Shawn Lindsey of US 50 in Iuka for alleged domestic battery and possession of methamphetamine.

Salem Police arrested 41-year-old Ryan Woodward of East Main in Salem for fleeing and eluding police and on a Marion County traffic warrant for driving on a suspended license.  Police say they initially tried to stop Woodward at Main and Rotan but he reportedly did not stop until he pulled into his driveway.

Salem Police arrested 28-year-old Eric Marshall of East Lyford in Salem for failure to appear in court on a Marion County warrant for domestic battery and on a failure to appear Williamson County traffic warrant.   The bond on the two warrants totals $8,000.  Police say they located Marshall after being called to a disturbance early Wednesday night in the former Family Video parking lot.

24-year-old Anthony Snow of Marcel Drive in Centralia was arrested by Centralia Police on a Richland County felony failure to appear warrant in an aggravated criminal sexual abuse case.   He remained in custody in lieu of $10,000 bond.

48-year-old Melissa Riddle of West Blair in Salem was arrested by Salem Police on an outstanding Union County felony failure to appear warrant.  She posted $2,000 cash bond and was released.

Salem Police are investigating a brick thrown at the front door of the Verizon Wireless store on West Whitaker Street.   The window cracked but did not break and no entry was gained.
