Illinois State Police have released information on a crash involving a semi and SUV on Route 37 (Broadway Avenue) and 8th Street in Alma late Monday afternoon.
Police report preliminary investigation indicates that a semi driven by 65-year-old Gary Lane of Kinmundy was attempting to turn onto Route 37 from private property when he crossed into the southbound lane of Route 37 and struck the front driver side of the SUV driven by 60-year-old Doval Mclean of West Schwartz Street in Salem.
Lane was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries. Mclean refused medical treatment at the scene.
Lane was issued a citation for Failure to Yield from Private Road or Drive
The crash was reported at 3:51 Monday afternoon.
