Salem Community High School Prom is Friday

The Salem Community High School Prom will be held on Friday night.   Doors will open to the public at seven pm.  Special music will begin at nine pm with the coronation starting at 9:30 and the Grand March immediately following coronation.

This year’s theme is “Written in the Stars,” and the colors representing the theme are navy, dusty blue, and gold.

Retiring Queen Emmaleigh Brandon (daughter of Hope Warren & Jacob Brandon of Salem) and retiring King Grant Purcell (son of Luke and Tamara Purcell of Salem) will lead the coronation.

Gracy Alli (daughter of Sam and Kim Alli of Centralia) and Rex Brashear (son of Wade and Michelle Brashear of Iuka)

Bella Krajefska (daughter of Heather Krajefska of Salem and Tony Krajefska of Iuka) and Nate Smith (son of Adam Smith of Salem and Stacy Berning of Centralia)

Kenadie Hancock (daughter of Brian and Jennifer Hancock of Iuka) and Cole Johnson (son of Chris Johnson and Heidi See both of Salem)

Junior Miss Rebecca Hays, daughter of Ed and Ambria Hayes and Melissa Cantrell all of Salem, will perform “I will always love you” by Whitney Houston.

Senior Miss Allyson Murphy, daughter of Monty and Kristen Murphy of Salem will perform “Valentine” by Laufey.

Senior Miss Alayna Williams, daughter of Troy and Amy Williams of Salem will perform “Rainbow” by Kacey Musgraves.

Spectators may buy reserved tickets for the gym’s chair seats for the night of prom in the Main Office from 7:30 – 3:30 p.m. each day thru Friday, May 5th. Ticket prices will be $5 for reserved chair seats. On the night of prom, any unsold reserved chair seat tickets will be sold at the door along with general admission for bleacher seats. The cost for bleacher seats is $3 per person.

As in past years, we will prohibit any parent/spectator from walking on the gym floor during prom. Prom 2023 will be professionally recorded by Wabash Communications and a digital download will be available after prom. Please note, any individual who wishes to videotape on their own will NOT be allowed to use the school’s power outlets due to the overloading of circuits.

Arrival Information:

For prom 2023 students will enter prom through the front gym lobby entrance of the SCHS building. Red carpet arrival with spectator viewing will be near doors 18, 19, and 20 in the front, with spectators using either door 18 or 20 for entering the prom. Prom attendees will use Jefferson Street to line up for arrivals and proceed north behind Phillips 66, and then turn left on Seneff to return to Route 37. Seneff Street will be closed to through traffic.
