Prep Softball — Lady Cats Head To Wood River, SC Moves On In NTC Tournament, CHS Gets Passed Carlyle

The Salem Lady Cats take their 18-3 record to Wood River to play the Lady Oilers today trying to stay in the hunt for at least a share of the Cahokia Conference title.  Salem trails Freeburg by a game heading into the final stretch run with their showdown coming on Tuesday, May 9th.

The SC Lady Cougars improved to 18-7 on the season winning their NTC Tournament opener over CHBC 17-0.  Jaylyn Michel was a home run shy of the cycle driving in 4 runs, Kinlee Thompson had 3 doubles and 3 RBI, Ella Watwood also drove in 3.  SC will play in the conference tournament semifinals on Wednesday at Effingham against Windsor-Stew Stras.

Centralia beat Carlyle 10-7 scoring 7 runs in the fifth inning.  The teams combined to make 10 errors.
