Wildcats Make It 8 Straight Wins
The Salem Wildcats made it 8 straight wins with their victory at Benton 10-9. Salem had to hold on as they led 10-5 heading into the bottom of the sixth. The Rangers would score 2 in the sixth and 3 more in the 7th before Salem sophomore Colton Shelton came over from the JV field to get the final 3 outs for the save. Josh Powless and Kam Wilkins both homered for the Cats. Powless drove in 2 runs with RBI also from Aden Susmena, Jalen Inlow, Griffin Day, Isaak Williams and Wilkins. Zimmerman earned the win going 6 innings allowing 11 hits and 9 runs, 7 earned on a windy day with the wind blowing out.
The Salem JV had no issues as they beat Benton 16-0 in four innings. Colten Shelton homered with doubles from Cooper Lobek and Deytin Parker. Salem got 3 RBI from Shelton and 2 each from Lobek, Aden Rostance and Colten Starnes. Also driving in Salem runs were Parker, Aden Bass, Carter Lowe, Ryan Detering, Jackson Green and Cody Beard. Carter Lowe got the start and was the winning pitcher going 3 innings allowing 1 hit. Eli LoGrasso finished up the final inning.
Stallions Gritty In 8-Inning Loss
The Christ Our Rock Stallions dropped their 2nd straight game, both to Father McGivney, losing Wednesday in Centralia 4-3 in 8 innings. The Stallions only had 1 hit, but scored 3 runs in the 7th to tie the game and send it to extras where the Griffins would earn the win. Lendon Isaiah had the lone Stallion hit. Brayden Albert and Christian Nollman added RBI Parker Boehne was really good in the no decision going 6.2 allowing 5 hits and 3 runs, only 2 earned and struck out 3. Da’mari Dabney worked the final 1.1.
