Warren Sets Freshman High Jump Record At Fresh/Soph Meet Wednesday

Salem hosted its annual Frosh/Soph boys track meet, the weather was great for the 6 team event. The meet featured Mt. Vernon, Marion, Carbondale, Onley, Centralia, and Salem, so there was a lot of good young talent.

The meet was non scored as a team event. One of the highlight of the meet was Ryegan Warren winning the high jump in a record setting clear of 6’1”. Miking Ettress was second in the long jump with a jump of 18’10”, while Becker of Salem was third with a jump of 18’5”.

Holden Richardson was 3rdd in the pole vault with a clear of 8’6”. Caylan Patterson was 1st in the triple jump with a distance of 35’ for personal best. Robbie Shober was 2nd in the 3200 meters in a time of 11 minutes 1 second and Hunter Malan was 3rd in a time of 11 minutes 7 seconds.

Ettress was second in the 200 meters in 24.06 seconds. The Wildcats also had personal best from Angel Salgado in the 400 meters, Austin Woolridge in the 200 meters,  Ben Webster in the long jump, DJ Kaufman in the discus and Carson Huggins in the 110 hurdles.  

The varsity Wildcats return to action on Friday in Sparta for the Buzz Bradley Invitational.
