The Salem Lady Bobcat soccer team played their first home game of the season in front of a big crowd and walked away with a 3-2 win over a good Carterville squad.

After giving up an early goal, Salem’s Kourtney Garrison started the Salem scoring with a bomb from the center line that found the back of the net.  Shelby Johnson ripped a shot from the right inside of the box to take the lead a few minutes later.  Addy Douglas added a goal to extend the lead just before halftime.  Brynn Kessler and Ria Niepoetter played solid defense to hold the lead in the 2nd half.

The Lady Bobcats travel to Harrisburg on Saturday to play the hosts and Murphysboro.  Then Sunday, they will play the boys team at 2pm at FCC Fields.
