In middle school track, Franklin Park hosted Carlyle, Rome & Patoka yesterday, with the Bobcats setting 40 PR”s and 9 state standards on the day.
On the boys side, Trey Clark won the discus in 138’10”, Madden Thompson and Avery Gullion both reached the mark in the high jump going 1-2 with Thompson jumping 5’8” and Gullion 5’6”. The Salem 4×400 relay team PR’d in a big way running the mile race in 3:56.72. That team includes Avery Gullion, Skylar Clark, Alex Spencer and Payton Gullion. Spencer also scorched the mile run as he won the 1600 in a time of 4:58.
On the girls side, 4 girls reached the state standard in the pole vault. They were Caitlynne Bryan who cleared 7’6”, Emily Runyon cleared 7, Jourdan and Lobek both cleared 6-6.
Also winning for the Salem boys were….Maliki Johnston – Long Jump, Nate Lowry – Pole Vault, Alex Spencer – Hurdles, Kyler King – 7th 100, Kade Orrell – 800m. Also the 4×100 team of King, Thompson, A Gullion, Clark…6th 4×100 team of Gambill, O Tennyson, Nix, Shober and the varsity 4×200 team of Thompson, Gullion, Gullion and Clark.
Also winning on the girls side were Brylee Pennypacker – Discus, Mya Russell – Long Jump, Addy Dougles – Hurdles, Kendall Zimmermann – 400, Ella Robinson – 1600, Lily Holsapple – 6th 100, Kourtney Garrison – 7th 100, Brylee Pennypacker & Jaxey Donoho – 8th 100, Nora Purcell – 800, Maddy Dulaney – 200. Also winning were the varsity 4×100 team of Jarrett, Cromton, Donoho, Dulaney….6th 4×100 team of Holsapple, Lobek, Myers, Johnson….4×200 team of Thurman, Jarrett, Wolfe, Dulaney….4×400 team of Zimmermann, Johnson, Lobek, Wolfe.
