A 22-year-old Centralia man has been arrested on multiple charges after turning into a Central City squad car on routine patrol early Saturday morning and then driving off.
Fredi Esteban-Vallencia of South Sycamore was arrested for aggravated fleeing and eluding, driving under the influence, no valid driver’s license, and multiple traffic tickets after he eventually stopped on his own on the railroad tracks several blocks away.

The squad car externally had just a few scrapes, but had damage to the operating system of the car.
