Central City mobile home slated for demolition destroyed by fire

The cause of a fire that destroyed a mobile home in Central City scheduled for demolition has not been determined.

Centralia Fire Protection District Chief Ross Boshera reported the home at 314 North Harrison was fully involved in flames upon their arrival.  The fire had first been reported by a passerby.

Central City Police reported two big explosion upon their arrival.  Their cause could not immediately be determined.

Boshera said fortunately initial reports of two people being trapped inside turned out to be false.

The Centralia City Fire Department and Sandoval Firemen provided mutual aid on the scene while Odin and Irvington Firemen stood by at the Centralia Fire Protection District in the event of another fire.

The fire call came in at 3:30 Wednesday afternoon.   Firemen cleared the scene at 5:45 pm.
