Wildcats Short-Game EAWR, OPS Walks Off On Woodlawn, COR Bounces Back, North Clay & Centralia Impressive – Prep Baseball

The Salem Wildcats improved to 2-2 in the Cahokia Conference with their 14-4 home win over East Alton Wood River.  Griffin Day led Salem going 4-5 at the plate and drove in 5 also earning the win on the mound going all 6 innings, allowing 7 hits and 4 runs, 3 earned with 5 strikeouts.  Also at the plate, Jalen Inlow went 4-5 and 4 runs scored, Noah Nix and Isaak Williams each had 3 hits and Aden Susmena added 2 hits and scored 4 runs.  Salem outhit the Oilers 18-7.  The Cats step out of Conference play today when they make the trip to Fairfield.

The Salem JV pounded EAWR 15-1 in 5 innings outhitting them 12-1.  Braden Rector drove in 4, Ryan Detering added 3 RBI with RBI also from Cooper Lobek, Deytin Parker, Brody Collier and Cody Beard.  Carter Lowe doubled.  Cody Beard, Rector and Aden Rostance worked on the mound combining for the 1 hitter.

Also in the Cahokia, Breese Central earns a win over Freeburg 14-4.  Chase Lewis went 3-3 with 5 RBI including a grand slam and triple shy of the cycle.  He also was the winning pitcher going the distance allowing 2 earned on 6 hits with 6 ks.  Ty Kuper scored 4 runs and Conner Freeze added 3 RBI.

Odin/Patoka/Sandoval beat Woodlawn 8-7 in MTC play on a Hunter Lane walk-off single.  Lane also earned the win in relief of Caden Williams who had the lead after his 5.1 innings of work.  Ben Spencer had 2 hits, Cambden Parrish doubled, Trace Padburg and Wade Volkel also had hits.

Christ Our Rock bounced back from their first loss of the season as they beat visiting Maryville Christian at Rakers Park in Centralia 15-0.  Parker Boehne doubled home a run and scored, Da’mari Dabney added a double, 2 hits, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.  Also driving in Stallion runs were Omari King, Jayden Bazile, Colton Oelze, Ethan Peltas, Drew Lueking and Christian Nollman who finished 2-3.  Colton Oelze was the winning pitcher going 3 innings allowing 1 hit and struck out 6.

North Clay improved to 8-3 with their win over Mt Carmel 8-5.  Ayden Jones was the winning pitcher and Cody Zimdars earned the save.

The Centralia Orphans showed no mercy as they routed Cahokia 33-0.
