South Central knocked off Robinson in the title game of the SC Softball Tournament in Kinmundy on Saturday 3-1. Taegan Webster’s 7 strong innings of work in the circle helped as she allowed just 5 hits and 6 strikeouts. Brooklyn Garrett drove in a run along with Webster and Jaelyn Michel.
The Lady Cougars won all 3 of their games opening with a 13-3 win over Cumberland in which Ella Watwood hit a home run and drove in 4. They then beat New Athens 13-3.
Woodlawn won the 3rd place game 10-0 over Cumberland. New Athens nipped Altamont 3-2 in the 5th place game.
In other scores from Saturday in Kinmundy, Cumberland beat New Athens 15-8, Woodlawn 4-2 over Altamont, Robinson beat Woodlawn 12-1 and Altamont 15-0.
SC is 8-3 on the season and returns to action today at Webber.
