The prep basketball season came to an end on Saturday at Champaign’s State Farm Center.
The 1a state champion is Waterloo Gibault after their win over Scales Mound 65-45.
In 2a, DePaul College Prep knocked off Bloomington Central Catholic 65-41.
Metamora outlasted Simeon for the 3a title 46-42 to win their first ever state title.
Moline won the 4a title over Lisle Benet Academy 59-42. Moline’s HOF coach Sean Taylor has over 650 wins and now has guided 2 schools to their first state titles. He coached Shelbyville to a 34-1 record and its first Class A crown in 1996 and helped Moline pull the trick in 2001.
